Finding your place #2 Photo

A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Saint Basil

I travel and see trees growing in the strangest places, and wonder how and why they grow where they do.
This is the second of what I call "Finding your Place". Believing that we all have "Our Place" the secret is finding it. This is a photograph taken in Gallup New Mexico along the road to Church Rock.

Route 66 Photo

While visiting the Petrified Forest Nation Park we found this old car that marks Historic Route 66 . Traces of an old roadbed and weathered telephone poles in the background mark the path of the famous Main Street of America. Petrified Forest National Park is the only park in the National Park System containing a section of Route 66.

From Chicago to Los Angeles, this heavily traveled highway was not only a road. It stood as a symbol of opportunity, adventure and exploration to travelers. Directions: Driving from Albuquerque travel 204 miles west on Interstate 40 to Exit 311, to the North entrance of the Petrified Forest .

Cadillac bumper completes the site. Tractor trailers in the background travel Westbound on US 40.

Approximately 460 miles to the west is the highway in Barstow CA.

Warmer Climate Photo

It's raining in Jamul & I'm getting a cold. So I 'm posting this warm weather photo from Mission San Xavier del Bac. The mission is situated in the Santa Cruz Valley nine miles south of Tucson, Arizona. The present church was built from 1783 - 1797 by the Franciscan Fathers Juan Bautista Velderrain and Juan Bautista Llorenz. This is the exterior of Blessed Virgin Mary Altar.

Believing that we all have "Our Place" the secret is finding it. This is a photograph taken in Gallup New Mexico along the road to Church Rock.
